About Music for Large Ensembles

My interest in composing for large ensembles goes back to the mid 1990's when guitarist Jeff Raheb and I founded the now defunct "Brooklyn Jazz Composer's Orchestra".  This 17 piece big band performed original music composed by myself and Jeff Raheb.  The group lasted for 6 years.

In 2016 I created the "Mountain Chamber Jazz Ensemble" which is a 12 piece ensemble featuring strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and voice.  Our debut CD is scheduled for release in early 2018.

In Falll, 2017, my first chamber orchestra piece "Canvas #1" was performed in Black Mountain, NC.
